It's beginning to smell a lot like.... Rockabilly!!

We had a Sunday off this September 8th and in a mad scramble to soak up the last rays of summer, we made a plan to come support and sponsor the Pin-Up Pageant for this year's annual Chilliwack Garlic and Music Festival!

What do rockabilly and garlic have in common?? We weren't sure but we were determined to find out!

We swung by to pick up our lovely friend and pinup babe extraordinaire, the stunning Elly Mayday who kept us in stitches for the entire ride! She's a gal with incredible beauty, brains, sass and class and the warmest, most positive attitude, always such a treat to be around!

As soon as we pulled in to the lot, we could hear the treble-soaked rockabilly riffs floating over the corn maze and immediately knew that this was bound to be a blast.

The smell of a vast array of garlicky goodness, the sweet, sweet musical stylings of Vancouver's own Swank, and the sight of some of the Lower Mainland's most beautiful pinup babes were an assault on the senses to say the least!
After greeting our lovely friends who were representing Bonerattle Talent, we quickly grabbed some food and staked out our perfect viewing spot for the pageant!

After a blur of of pompadours, victory rolls, adorable dresses, flirty, fluttering lashes, pouting red lips and super sexy strutting... the winners were announced and we couldn't be happier to see some of our favorite girls with tiaras in their hair and huge smiles on their gorgeous faces!!

It was such a joy to see a bunch of awesome gals from all walks of life, owning their gorgeous body shape and being confident, sweet, fun, sassy and tongue-in-cheek.. all bringing their own unique beauty to the table!
The amazing Teresa Marie did an awesome job organizing and hosting the pageant, we could not be more proud of her.. and even though she was busy running around making sure everything was ok, she still had time to squeeze in a quick hug and kiss!

As for the garlic bit.. we may have missed the direct connection but it sure was fun (and tasty) and it helped bring a lot of Chilliwack locals who may not have otherwise known about the growing community that exists right in their city!
Sometimes, when we get a bit wrapped up in our own tiny worlds, we tend to forget what an amazing community we belong to and it's events like this that help bring us closer together and realize what wonderful people we have supporting this community and reaching out to embrace people who are eager to join us!
XOXO
